Have you inspected the transmission cooler and the lines going between it and the transmission? I'm wondering if somehow one of the lines is pinched causing poor flow and hence poor cooling of the fluid. Doug.
Change automatic transmission fluid, if equipped. If filter is serviceable, change filter. (Applies to: Severe) Change manual transmission fluid. (Applies to: Manual, Severe) Drain and fill engine cooling system (or every 5 years, whichever comes first). Change brake fluid (or every 3 years, whichever occurs first).
This video is about doing a front wheel drive automatic transmission fluid (ATF) change in either the GM 6T40 or 6T45 automatic transmission (aka transaxle)
jhouse55 said: YES, 100% yes. The same people who say don't change the fluid, are the ones that refuse to change it in the first place. They wait until the transmission starts to fail (eat itself), finally get forced into taking action, and usually resulting in a transmission that needs replacing.
1. The current ATF change method involves performing two drains and re-fills of ATF, which replaces approximately 70% of the old fluid, leaving 30% still in the transmission. It is far from ideal and wastes 25% of the new fluid. The ability to flush out 95-99% of the fluid will provide better results. 2.
Maintaining your Chevrolet Cruze transmission fluid is one of the best ways to maintain your transmission's health. About every 30,000 to 60,000 miles is a good timeframe for having your transmission fluid inspected and perhaps changed.

The "complicated" procedure is not really much more than two things: 1. Using a computer to make sure the new fluid is all warmed to the proper temperature to check the fill level. 2. There is no dipstick, so you have to get under the car to use the fill level plug to check. S. rAr8p.
