Mixing XMP & non-XMP Memory. I decided to add more memory to my Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UDH motherboard since I'll keep it a while longer. This currently has 2x 8GB DDR3 GSkill Ares RAM modules (F3-1866C10D-16GAB) running at 1866 MHz using one of the XMP profiles. I just bought another 2x 8GB DDR3 HyperX Fury modules (HX318C10FBK2/16) rated at 1866MHZ Plus in this case, you don’t need to worry about flex mode vs normal dual channel operation. One channel gets 16GB + 8GB and the other channel gets 16GB + 8GB in the corresponding slots. With matching 24GB per channel it should operate in perfectly normal dual channel mode. 4. I have Dell G7 - 7588. It has two 8gb ram both single rank. it came with 1x8gb and then I upgrade it to 16gb with new 8gb single ram. Now I want to take that second 8gb ram and replace it with single rank 16gb ram. But I am confused if they will be work OK together? Or will conflict.. Thanks in advance. Mixing capacities or mis-matching modules
4GB to 8GB. 4GB of RAM is recommended as a minimum configuration for the typical productivity user. 8GB to 16GB. 8GB of RAM is the sweet spot for the majority of users, providing enough RAM for virtually all productivity tasks and less demanding games. 16GB or more.
I am doing a new build and the hyperX RAM kits look really nice. They also come in white, and in black. I want to mix one 16gb white kit with a 16gb black kit to contribute to my white and black theme. However, the voltages are both 1.5 and I'm afraid mixing that would be problematic, as the max voltage on my 4790k is just over 1.5V. p6jc3rW.
