2006. Posted February 11, 2012. Hi, EGR valve is behind the engine, if you take the cover off, you will see it just behind the engine, half way down. Keep in mind that if you have and electronic EGR it will be harder to clean. Also if you take it out make sure you clean the hoses getting in and out of it also.

The pipe from the egr vale connects onto item 3 from one side and then another hose connects on the other side of item 3 and goes to the intercooler. Replaced the hose - £65 from good old fordy - and turbo is boosting again! yippeee.

Blanking the EGR does not "hide" the problem, it removes the problem permanently. More often than not, its the EGR valve/ system that IS the problem. You don't need an EGR valve/ system on a diesel engine - simples. The "consequences" of fitting a solid stainless steel EGR blanking plate are - Better starting. Less smoke. More reliable. Cleaner
