Im sure a lot of you guys who played Dark Souls 1 saw this happen a bunch. The new backstab mechanic in Dark Souls 2 doesnt allow this. It's funny how a lot of the weird online mechanics in Dark Souls 1 were such a happy accident - sure they were broken, but they came together in a way that it wasnt nearly as frustrating as it could have been."

The Elden Ring Backstab By The_Jackel. This guide is for a mod called Of Ash and Dust. This is a fairly new mod for Dark Souls Remastered that is an overhaul mod. It adds new enemies, spells, weapons, armor, bonfires, bosses and more! However, this mod also shuffles so items and NPCs around causing it to be a little tricky to locate specific items. When i first played dark souls, i never really bothered to use backstepping, and after dark souls 1 and 2, i started using it a bit in demon's souls, but i've found that it doesnt take you far enough back, and doesnt seem to have invincibility frames like rolling, so isnt rolling backwards a better choice 90% of the times, would like to hear Some enemies are immune to critical hits but can still be parried. 4. Parrying works in a group of enemies, while backstabbing gets you hit by the other enemies more easily. Especially in lower Undead Burg and Anor Londo, trying to fish for backstabs just results in you getting backstabbed by other enemies. Not every sound was changed, mostly only sounds with a noticable change between DS1 and DS3. This mod SHOULD work for both Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition and Dark Souls Remastered, however I only really tried it with the remaster. How to install: 1.) Place into your Dark Souls install directory, probably at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam Rapier is still the best backstab damage weapons that DOESN'T require strength of 30plus. Some of the monster weapons can now do more damage with a backstab but you need HIGH SCALING STATS so you would need to be level 100plus. I actually managed to get my chaos rapier to do 2700 backstab damage consistently without the use of any stat scaling ooEyi.
